Kiwanis-Bennett Memorial Scholarship
The Kiwanis-Bennett Memorial Scholarship Fund has provided scholarships for deserving students since 1955. This aid to students seeking higher education at a college or university of their choice is possible because a great Kiwanian, I. Wesley Bennett and his wife left a large share of their estate for this purpose, in the trusteeship of a committee of Kiwanians of the Bremerton Kiwanis Club. Kiwanis-Bennett Memorial Scholarships are granted to assist in tuition expenses with no limitation as to age, sex, race, creed or national origin. Candidates must reside or have graduated from North Mason or a Kitsap County high school, or be attending or planning to attend Olympic College, and be accepted by an accredited college, junior college or technical institute. Persons who have applied for the scholarship in past years are eligible to apply again, regardless of whether they were awarded the scholarship on previous application(s). The general requirements considered are the applicant's need, character, initiative, adaptability, leadership, scholastic ability and social adjustment rather than grade point average alone.
