The annual installation of officers was held at the Summit Avenue Presbyterian Church in Bremerton. As always, the food was awesome and abundant. The opportunity to celebrate a great year and look forward to another kept the conversation upbeat all evening. Past Lt. Governor Dave Foote was the Master of Cermonies.
Installation of new officers:
President: Patti Peterson
President Elect: Pam Crowe
Immediate Past President: Darroll Clark
Our new President Patti has hit the ground running, having conducted several weekly Kiwanis meetings over the past months. Having recently returned from the District Convention in Kennewick, WA she is full of enthusiasm and exciting plans. It promises to be a great year!
Ukulele Drawing:
For the past several months, club members have been selling raffle tickets for a beautiful, custom made Ukulele. It was hand made by Dan Pudelko (Fiddlestix Originals) of Plains Montana. He also happens to be the son of our new President Patti! The tension mounted as Alyson Rotter’s daughter pulled the winning ticket. Our own member, Deann Irish was the winner! Hopefully we will have a demonstration of her new talents at an upcoming meeting! Congratulations Deann!
Kiwanian of the Year
The Kiwanian of the Year trophy is presented to an individual who represents the goals and objectives of Kiwanis throughout the year. With an active club, made up of many active members, this can be a difficult decision. A committee, made up of the prior Kiwanian of the Year winners is tasked with making this tough choice. This year, the club has selected Roger Zegers as the winner. His first duty will be to build a new section for the traveling trophy as all available space has been filled. There is speculation that if Roger had not been a woodworker, he might not have been nominated! ;0)
